Jeremiah 7:10

then come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, ‘We are delivered;’ that you may do all these abominations?

What does Jeremiah 7:10 mean?

Jeremiah is confronting a painful contradiction: people were coming to the Temple, acting like everything was fine with God, claiming they were safe and protected, all while continuing to hurt others and ignore what God actually asked of them. It's like showing up to someone's house, pretending to be their friend, while secretly treating them and everyone around you badly. God is pointing out that religious rituals and words mean nothing if they're not connected to real change in how we treat people. The prophet is essentially asking, "Do you really think just appearing in the right place and saying the right things makes you okay with God when your actions tell a completely different story?"
