What does Jeremiah 36:5 mean?

Jeremiah was under arrest or confined at this point in his ministry, so he couldn't physically enter the temple to deliver God's message himself. Instead of letting that stop the word from being shared, he asked his faithful scribe Baruch to go in his place and read the scroll aloud to the people gathered there. It's a beautiful picture of how God's purpose doesn't depend on any one person being able to do everything, and how sometimes our limitations become opportunities for others to step into important roles. Even when we're stuck or sidelined, there are still ways to participate in what God is doing.
