Jeremiah 36:6
“Therefore you go, and read from the scroll which you have written from my mouth, Yahweh’s words, in the ears of the people in Yahweh’s house on the fast day. Also you shall read them in the ears of all Judah who come out of their cities.”
What does Jeremiah 36:6 mean?
Jeremiah is being sent by God to do something bold: read God's warnings aloud to the people during a solemn fast day at the temple, when crowds would gather from across Judah. The scroll contains messages Jeremiah received directly from God, so reading it publicly isn't Jeremiah's opinion, but God's own urgent word to the nation. This moment captures something important about how God sometimes works. Rather than force change on people, God arranges for His message to be heard clearly and widely, giving people a real chance to listen and turn around.
