Jeremiah 36:4
“Then Jeremiah called Baruch the son of Neriah; and Baruch wrote from the mouth of Jeremiah all Yahweh’s words, which he had spoken to him, on a scroll of a book.”
What does Jeremiah 36:4 mean?
Jeremiah needed to get God's messages to the people of Jerusalem, but he was restricted from entering the temple himself, so he called on his faithful scribe Baruch to be his voice. Baruch carefully wrote down everything Jeremiah dictated—all the warnings and words God had given the prophet—onto a scroll that could be read aloud publicly. This simple act of one person faithfully serving another became surprisingly powerful: that scroll would eventually be read to the king and would preserve God's message for generations to come. Sometimes the most important work happens quietly, through partnership and obedience, when one person agrees to help carry another's burden.
