“You shall seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart.”
What does Jeremiah 29:13 mean?
God is making a promise here that sincere seeking will always be rewarded with finding. The prophet Jeremiah spoke this to people in exile, far from home and wondering if God had abandoned them, so these words offered real hope during despair. When we search with our whole heart, not halfheartedly or out of mere curiosity, we open ourselves to genuinely encountering God. It's less about God hiding and more about us finally being ready to look and listen with everything we have.
