What does Jeremiah 23:12 mean?
When people turn away from God and live with dishonesty and harm toward others, their lives become unstable and confusing, like trying to walk on ice in pitch darkness. They keep stumbling forward, unable to find solid ground or see where they're going, until eventually they fall. Jeremiah is describing a natural consequence: when we reject God's guidance and live selfishly, we lose our footing and direction. The "year of visitation" refers to the moment when God's judgment comes, when they finally face the results of their choices.
