What does Jeremiah 23:11 mean?

God is calling out the religious leaders of Jeremiah's time for using their positions of authority to exploit people rather than serve them faithfully. The phrase "in my house" refers to the temple, which should have been a place of genuine worship and justice, but instead became a space where these leaders advanced their own interests and ignored God's heart for the vulnerable. This is devastating language because the people were relying on prophets and priests to guide them spiritually and morally, yet those very leaders had become corrupt. The message cuts deeply: when those trusted to point others toward God instead pursue selfish gain or teach falsehoods, the damage spreads through entire communities.
