Isaiah 5:12
“The harp, lyre, tambourine, and flute, with wine, are at their feasts; but they don’t respect the work of Yahweh, neither have they considered the operation of his hands.”
What does Isaiah 5:12 mean?
Isaiah is describing a people so caught up in pleasure and celebration that they've become blind to God's presence and work in their lives. They're surrounded by music, wine, and festivity, yet their hearts are closed to noticing what God is doing around them or what He's asking of them. The prophet uses this image to show how easy it is to fill our lives with enjoyment and distraction while missing what actually matters.
