What does Isaiah 36:4 mean?
The Assyrian king's commander is trying to shake the faith of Jerusalem's leaders by questioning what they're relying on for security. He's essentially asking, "What makes you think you can stand against us?" with the implied message that their trust is foolish. This moment captures a very human struggle: when we face overwhelming pressure or threat, it's natural to doubt whether our faith or hope can actually sustain us.
