Isaiah 29:11
“All vision has become to you like the words of a book that is sealed, which men deliver to one who is educated, saying, “Read this, please”; and he says, “I can’t, for it is sealed:””
What does Isaiah 29:11 mean?
Isaiah is describing what happens when people have turned away from God so completely that even when truth is placed right in front of them, they can't receive it. It's like handing someone a sealed book and asking them to read it, which is impossible, no matter how educated they are. The point isn't that God's message is genuinely hidden, but that hardened hearts and closed minds make it impossible to understand what's being offered. This speaks to those moments when we resist God so stubbornly that spiritual insight becomes inaccessible to us, not because God has hidden it, but because we've sealed ourselves off. If you're feeling spiritually stuck or confused, this verse suggests the invitation is still there, waiting for us to unseal our hearts and minds.
