Hebrews 2:11
“For both he who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from one, for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brothers,”
What does Hebrews 2:11 mean?
Jesus, who makes us holy, and we who are made holy through him, both come from the same source, God the Father. Because of that shared origin, Jesus isn't embarrassed or reluctant to call us his brothers and sisters, to claim us as family. This is radical comfort for anyone who feels unworthy or distant from God: Jesus himself embraces that relationship with us without hesitation. The letter is reminding early Christians (and us) that our connection to Jesus isn't distant or conditional, but genuinely familial and secure.
