What does Genesis 3:10 mean?
Adam's response captures that raw moment after eating the forbidden fruit, when everything between him and God shifted. He heard God walking in the garden (as he apparently did in the cool of the day), and instead of running toward Him as he once would have, fear took over. That fear wasn't really about being physically naked, but about being exposed, known, and found guilty, the way shame makes us want to disappear. It's a deeply human moment, actually, because we all know that instinct to hide when we've done something wrong or feel unworthy. Adam's hiding himself prefigures how we still try to cover ourselves with excuses, busyness, or distance from God when we sense we've fallen short.
