What does Genesis 27:22 mean?

Isaac is old and blind, so he's trying to verify which son stands before him through touch and sound. Jacob's voice gives him away as the younger twin, but the hairy arms Jacob has wrapped in animal skins feel like his rugged older brother Esau. In this moment, Isaac senses something is wrong even as he's being deceived, yet he doesn't stop to investigate further. It's a poignant detail that shows how our doubts and suspicions sometimes whisper truth to us, but we can override them when we want to believe what someone is telling us, or when we're tired, hungry, or afraid of making a scene.
