“Abram said to Lot, “Please, let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen; for we are relatives.”
What does Genesis 13:8 mean?
When two people or groups have grown too large to live comfortably together, conflict becomes almost inevitable, and that's exactly what was happening between Abram's and Lot's servants over grazing land and water. Rather than fight to prove who had more authority, Abram chooses peace and offers his younger relative first pick of the land, willing to take whatever remains.
