Galatians 4:8
“However at that time, not knowing God, you were in bondage to those who by nature are not gods.”
What does Galatians 4:8 mean?
Paul is reminding the Galatians of their spiritual situation before they knew Christ. They once served false gods and empty religious systems, genuinely believing these powers had authority over their lives. The phrase "by nature are not gods" doesn't mean the Galatians were worshipping obvious fakes, but rather that these spiritual forces, though they seemed real and powerful, had no actual divine nature or ultimate authority.
