Galatians 4:6
“And because you are children, God sent out the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!””
What does Galatians 4:6 mean?
When you become a child of God through faith, something shifts deep within you: God's own Spirit moves into your heart and gives you the ability to cry out to him as "Abba," an intimate Aramaic word for father. Paul uses this term to show you're not approaching God as a distant judge or a stern authority, but as someone who belongs to his family and can speak to him with the closeness of a beloved child. This wasn't just Paul's experience or the privilege of a special few. He's telling the Galatian believers (and you) that this intimate access to God through his Spirit is your birthright the moment you're adopted into his family. That longing to call out to God, to know him personally, to feel him near in your life? That's the Spirit of Jesus working in you, inviting you into the same relationship he has with his Father.
