What does Ezekiel 30:8 mean?

God is declaring that Egypt and the nations allied with it will experience His judgment, and through this act they will come to recognize His power and authority. Ezekiel was speaking to people living in exile, assuring them that God was still in control even though powerful earthly kingdoms seemed to rule everything. When God's justice comes to pass, even those who resisted or refused to acknowledge Him will be forced to recognize who He truly is. This reflects a consistent theme in Ezekiel: God's purpose isn't cruelty for its own sake, but rather to demonstrate His reality and sovereignty to a world that has turned away from Him.
