Ezekiel 17:21
“All his fugitives in all his bands will fall by the sword, and those who remain will be scattered toward every wind. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it.’”
What does Ezekiel 17:21 mean?
God is describing the complete collapse of a kingdom (in this case, the rebellious King Zedekiah of Judah) where scattered soldiers will be hunted down and survivors will be driven into exile across all directions. The certainty with which this judgment unfolds will itself become proof to everyone witnessing it that God's word is trustworthy and true. When you're living through chaos and wondering if God's promises mean anything, this verse reminds us that even the hardest predictions eventually make clear that God does what he says, however difficult that truth might be to accept.
