Ezekiel 11:8

What does Ezekiel 11:8 mean?
God is speaking to leaders in Jerusalem who are plotting and relying on their own schemes instead of trusting him, thinking they're safe behind the city walls. Their fear of invasion shows they know something is wrong, yet they're refusing to turn back to him, and their disobedience will bring about the very danger they dread. It's a hard word about how running from God while pretending everything is fine doesn't protect us—sometimes the consequences we fear most come because we've already turned away. The hope embedded here is that God is still speaking, still trying to get their attention, because he wants them to repent before it's too late.
