Exodus 4:15
“You shall speak to him, and put the words in his mouth. I will be with your mouth, and with his mouth, and will teach you what you shall do.”
What does Exodus 4:15 mean?
God is reassuring Moses that he won't have to do this impossible task alone. Moses has been protesting that he's not a good speaker and can't possibly confront Pharaoh, so God promises to work through him and his brother Aaron, putting the right words in their mouths and guiding everything they need to do. There's something deeply comforting in this promise for anyone who's ever felt inadequate for what's been asked of them. God isn't saying Moses will suddenly become eloquent or confident on his own. Instead, God is pledging to be present in the actual speaking, in the actual moment, providing what's needed. When you're trembling before a hard conversation, a difficult responsibility, or a calling that feels beyond you, this verse suggests God's help isn't distant or theoretical, it's intimate and active, right there in your mouth and your actions.
