What does Exodus 36:6 mean?
There's something beautiful happening here: the people had given so generously toward building the tabernacle that Moses actually had to ask them to stop. They'd brought more than enough materials, more than was needed for the work. Instead of greed or hoarding, the Israelites showed overwhelming eagerness to contribute to something sacred and communal. Moses's proclamation reveals that sometimes restraint and wisdom mean knowing when to say "enough," and the people's obedience shows they trusted him and valued the sanctuary enough to accept that boundary. It's a rare and hopeful glimpse of a community united in generosity rather than divided by scarcity.
