Exodus 34:18
““You shall keep the feast of unleavened bread. Seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, as I commanded you, at the time appointed in the month Abib; for in the month Abib you came out of Egypt.”
What does Exodus 34:18 mean?
God is reminding the Israelites to annually celebrate their liberation from slavery by eating unleavened bread for seven days during the spring month of Abib. Unleavened bread (made without yeast) connects them to that rushed exodus night when there was no time for dough to rise before they fled Egypt.
