Exodus 19:7
“Moses came and called for the elders of the people, and set before them all these words which Yahweh commanded him.”
What does Exodus 19:7 mean?
Moses had just encountered God at Mount Sinai and received the terms of a covenant God wanted to make with Israel. Rather than announcing these life-changing words himself, Moses gathered the elders, the community leaders who would help guide the people, and faithfully reported exactly what God had said. This shows Moses acting as a faithful messenger, honoring both God's words and the leaders' role in helping the people understand their significance.
