Exodus 19:6
“and you shall be to me a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation.’ These are the words which you shall speak to the children of Israel.””
What does Exodus 19:6 mean?
God was speaking to Moses about the whole nation of Israel, not just a select priestly class. When He called them a "kingdom of priests," He meant that every person in that community would have direct access to Him and a responsibility to represent His character to the world around them. They weren't meant to be isolated or elevated above others, but to be a living example of what it looks like to live in relationship with God. This is a beautiful reminder that if you follow God, you're not meant to keep that relationship to yourself. Being "holy" (set apart) isn't about perfection or superiority, but about being dedicated to reflecting God's values in your daily life, your work, your neighborhood, and your relationships. You become a kind of bridge between God and the people you encounter, simply by the way you live.
