What does Deuteronomy 29:3 mean?
Moses is reminding the people of Israel about everything they witnessed during their exodus from Egypt and journey through the wilderness, from the plagues to the parting of the Red Sea to God's provision in the desert. He's essentially saying, "You saw this with your own eyes, not just heard about it secondhand." There's something powerful in that reminder, especially during a covenant renewal ceremony, because it grounds faith in actual experience rather than abstract belief. When Moses recalls these "great trials" and "wonders," he's inviting people to remember that God showed up for them when it mattered most, which becomes the foundation for why they should trust Him moving forward.
