What does Acts 5:23 mean?
The guards had done everything right, on the surface. The doors were sealed, the locks were secure, and they were standing watch like soldiers. Yet when Peter and the other apostles were supposed to be locked away after being arrested for healing people and teaching about Jesus, they simply weren't there anymore. The guards discovered something that defied explanation: a completely secured prison with completely empty cells.
