What does Acts 4:22 mean?

This detail might seem small, but it matters more than you'd think. The man had been crippled from birth, spending over forty years unable to walk, and now he was suddenly healed through Jesus' name. By emphasizing his age, Luke is saying this wasn't some quick recovery that could be dismissed or explained away. This was a complete reversal of a lifelong condition, which makes the evidence for what God did through Peter and John much harder to argue against. Even the religious leaders couldn't deny it because everyone in Jerusalem knew this man had been disabled his whole life.
