What does Acts 4:16 mean?
The religious leaders in Jerusalem faced a problem they couldn't escape: Peter and John had healed a man who had been lame his entire life, and thousands of people witnessed it. Everyone could see the man walking and leaping in the temple courts where he used to beg. No amount of authority or arguing could undo what had plainly happened in front of the whole city. This moment captures the frustration of people who want to suppress the truth but find reality standing against them. They couldn't deny the miracle, couldn't explain it away, couldn't pretend it didn't occur.
