What does Acts 4:15 mean?
The religious leaders who had just arrested Peter and John needed time to figure out what to do with them. This moment shows the confusion and concern spreading through the council (the Sanhedrin, the Jewish governing body) as they witnessed Peter's boldness and the undeniable healing of a man who had been crippled his whole life. By ordering the apostles to step outside, they created space to discuss privately what threat these followers of Jesus actually posed. It's a very human moment: faced with something unexpected and powerful, people naturally huddle together to make sense of it before deciding their next move.
