Acts 3:22
“For Moses indeed said to the fathers, ‘The Lord God will raise up a prophet for you from among your brothers, like me. You shall listen to him in all things whatever he says to you.”
What does Acts 3:22 mean?
Moses is reminding the people of God's ancient promise that another great leader and spokesperson for God would come someday, someone who would guide them the way Moses himself had done. The early Christians believed Jesus was that promised prophet, the one who would speak God's truth with the same authority Moses had carried. When Peter quotes this in Acts, he's essentially saying, "The person you should be listening to now is Jesus, because this is exactly what God said would happen." For anyone wrestling with which voices to trust or where to find genuine guidance, this points to the heart of Christian faith: that Jesus is the one who truly speaks for God.
