What does Acts 11:20 mean?
In the early days after Jesus rose and the Spirit came at Pentecost, the Good News about Jesus stayed mostly within Jewish communities. But some believers from the Mediterranean islands and North Africa took a different path, traveling to the cosmopolitan city of Antioch and deliberately sharing Jesus with Greek-speaking non-Jews, people called Hellenists. This moment marks a quiet but pivotal shift: the gospel breaking free from its original boundaries and moving outward to people who had no Jewish background or connection to the temple. What makes this even more significant is that nobody sent these faithful people on assignment or gave them special permission, yet they recognized that Jesus's resurrection belonged to everyone, not just one ethnic group. This is how the gospel began its remarkable journey across the whole world.
