What does 1 Thessalonians 5:11 mean?
Paul is calling the Thessalonian church to keep doing something they're already doing well: encouraging and strengthening one another. The word "exhort" means to urge someone toward what's good, to speak words that lift them up when they're discouraged or uncertain. When we build each other up, we're not flattering or being fake, but rather reminding people of their worth, their strength, and God's faithfulness in their lives.
