What does 1 Samuel 29:8 mean?
David is protesting what seems like unfair treatment from Achish, the Philistine king he's been serving as a mercenary. He's asking, essentially, "What's wrong with me? Haven't I been loyal and faithful to you all this time?" The question carries a note of wounded pride, but it's also strategic: David is trying to convince Achish that he deserves to fight alongside the Philistines against Israel.
