1 John 1:7
“But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.”
What does 1 John 1:7 mean?
Walking in the light is a way of describing living honestly and openly, both with God and with each other. When we stop hiding our struggles and pretending everything is fine, we create space for real connection with other people who are doing the same thing. The beautiful promise here is that being part of this honest community doesn't require us to be perfect first. Jesus's sacrifice covers all the ways we fall short, so we don't have to earn our place or clean ourselves up before showing up. That freedom from shame is what actually lets us walk in the light in the first place.
