1 Corinthians 15:50
“Now I say this, brothers, that flesh and blood can’t inherit God’s Kingdom; neither does the perishable inherit imperishable.”
What does 1 Corinthians 15:50 mean?
Paul is telling us something profound about the nature of eternal life: our current physical bodies, as they are now, cannot exist unchanged in God's Kingdom. He's not saying the body is bad or that we won't have bodies in heaven, but rather that what we are now—temporary, fragile, and subject to decay—has to be transformed into something imperishable and eternal. This was Paul's way of addressing people who were confused about resurrection. Some thought we'd simply float around as spirits, while others couldn't imagine existence any other way than how we know it now. Paul is saying neither extreme is right: we'll be raised with bodies, but they'll be utterly renewed, fit for eternity rather than for a world where things fall apart and fade away.
