Zechariah 10:7

Ephraim will be like a mighty man, and their heart will rejoice as through wine; yes, their children will see it, and rejoice. Their heart will be glad in Yahweh.

What does Zechariah 10:7 mean?

God is promising His people restoration and deep, unshakeable joy. The image of Ephraim becoming mighty like a warrior, with hearts glad as if from wine, suggests strength returning and celebration breaking out naturally, not forced or temporary. What makes this promise so tender is that the joy will ripple through generations, with children witnessing their parents' transformation and joining in that gladness themselves. The heart of it all is that this rejoicing isn't about earthly victory alone but about delight rooted in relationship with God, a gladness that holds steady because it's anchored in Him rather than circumstances.
