Zechariah 10:6

“I will strengthen the house of Judah, and I will save the house of Joseph, and I will bring them back; for I have mercy on them; and they will be as though I had not cast them off: for I am Yahweh their God, and I will hear them.

What does Zechariah 10:6 mean?

God is promising to restore the people he once had to discipline and scatter. After the kingdom split into Judah and Joseph (Israel), both experienced exile and separation from God, but this verse announces that God hasn't abandoned them permanently. He's saying he will rebuild them, bring them home, and treat them as fully restored children rather than as cast-offs. The heart of this promise is that God's mercy is stronger than his judgment. Even after punishment, his commitment to his people remains, and he will listen to their cries. For anyone feeling distant from God or wondering if they've gone too far, this speaks to the possibility of restoration and being heard again.
