Zechariah 1:10

What does Zechariah 1:10 mean?
Zechariah had just seen a vision of riders on colored horses moving through the earth, and he naturally wondered what it all meant. This angelic messenger explains that these riders are God's scouts, patrolling the world to report back on what's happening. The image suggests that God is actively watching over creation, paying attention to events and circumstances unfolding everywhere. For Zechariah's community, who were rebuilding Jerusalem after exile, this was deeply reassuring: God wasn't distant or unaware, but vigilantly present and engaged with their world and their restoration.
