What does Romans 9:21 mean?
Paul uses the image of a potter working with clay to explore a difficult truth: God has the authority to shape history and human destiny according to his purposes, not according to what we might think is fair. Just as a potter can use the same lump of clay to create different vessels for different uses, God can work through different people and nations in different ways.
