Romans 8:3
“For what the law couldn’t do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God did, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, he condemned sin in the flesh;”
What does Romans 8:3 mean?
Paul is saying that God's law, while good and right, couldn't actually fix our broken relationship with sin because we're weak and keep failing to keep it. So instead of leaving us trapped in that cycle, God took a different approach: he sent Jesus in human form to do what the law couldn't do. By living a perfect life and then dying as a sacrifice for our sins, Jesus absorbed the penalty we deserved and broke sin's power over us in a way that rule-keeping never could. This is hopeful news, especially if you've ever felt crushed by your own failures or wondered if you'd ever measure up. The point isn't that you need to try harder to follow rules, but that Jesus already accomplished what matters most.
