Romans 5:2
“through whom we also have our access by faith into this grace in which we stand. We rejoice in hope of the glory of God.”
What does Romans 5:2 mean?
Through Jesus, we gain entry into God's grace, the unearned favor and acceptance that transforms our lives. Paul describes this not as a one-time moment but as a place where we continually "stand," meaning grace becomes our solid foundation and home. The second sentence captures something beautiful: because we're secured in this grace, we can rejoice even now in the hope of sharing God's glory, his character and presence, both in this life and eternally. This is why Paul emphasizes rejoicing—not because our circumstances are always easy, but because nothing can separate us from the grace we stand in.
