What does Romans 3:18 mean?
Paul is describing what happens when people turn away from God's authority and guidance. "Fear of God" here doesn't mean being terrified, but rather having a deep respect for God and his standards, which naturally shapes how we treat others and live our lives. When that reverence is gone, Paul suggests people lose the internal compass that keeps them from hurting one another and themselves. He's painting a picture of spiritual disconnection, not as judgment, but as cause and effect: when we stop acknowledging God's presence and character, our choices tend to become more self-centered and harmful.
