What does Romans 16:3 mean?
Paul is singling out Priscilla (Prisca) and Aquila, a married couple who worked alongside him in spreading the Christian message. Rather than being distant figures or official leaders with grand titles, they're described simply as "fellow workers," suggesting they labored at the same level as Paul himself, likely through tentmaking and hospitality as well as teaching. By naming them in a letter read aloud to the Roman church, Paul was publicly honoring their partnership and asking the community to greet them warmly. This brief mention tells us something important: the early church wasn't built by solo preachers or distant authorities, but by ordinary couples and friends who invited people into their homes and shared their faith openly.
