Romans 16:2

What does Romans 16:2 mean?
Paul is asking the Roman church to welcome Phoebe, a deacon from a neighboring community, with the same respect and care they'd show any honored member of their faith family. He's not asking for charity or mere politeness, but for genuine partnership—whatever practical help she needs, whether lodging, business connections, or community support, the church should provide it. What makes this request powerful is that Paul grounds it in her track record: she's already been a generous helper to many people, including Paul himself. He's essentially saying, "This woman has invested in others; now invest in her." It's a beautiful reminder that the church works best when we recognize one another's gifts and contributions, and when we're willing to give back to those who have given to us.
