Romans 15:3

What does Romans 15:3 mean?
When Jesus walked on earth, he didn't pursue his own comfort or reputation. Instead, he absorbed the hostility and rejection that were really meant for God. Paul quotes an Old Testament psalm here to show that Jesus' willingness to suffer insult and shame was actually the fulfillment of Scripture, not a tragic accident. This means that Christ's self-sacrifice wasn't about martyrdom for its own sake, but about stepping into a role of bearing what others deserved to bear.
