What does Romans 12:6 mean?

God gives each of us different abilities and callings, distributed by his grace rather than by our own merit or effort. If you've been given the gift of prophecy (speaking God's truth to others), the key is to exercise it in proportion to your actual faith, not beyond it, meaning you speak what you genuinely believe God is saying rather than pretending to certainty you don't have. This principle applies to all our gifts: we're invited to use what God has actually given us, in honest measure, rather than performing something we think sounds more impressive. The point is that authentic ministry flows from real conviction, and God honors that genuineness far more than confident overreach.
