What does Romans 11:29 mean?

God's gifts and calling don't depend on our performance or feelings, and He won't take them back because we've stumbled or disappointed ourselves. Paul wrote this to encourage both Jews and Gentiles who wondered if they still had a place in God's plan, and it speaks powerfully to anyone who's ever doubted their worth to Him. When God calls you into relationship with Him or gives you a spiritual gift, it's a commitment He stands behind, not a loan He'll demand back the moment things get difficult. This doesn't mean consequences disappear, but it does mean you're not one mistake away from being abandoned.
