Romans 10:7
“or, ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead.)””
What does Romans 10:7 mean?
Paul is quoting from Deuteronomy to make a point about faith and salvation. He's saying you don't need to do the impossible work of descending into the depths to rescue Christ from death, because that rescue has already happened through the resurrection. What he's really getting at is this: you can't earn your salvation by performing heroic spiritual feats or by trying to undo what seems undoable. Instead, salvation comes simply by believing in what God has already accomplished for you. The passage invites us to rest in what's been done rather than exhaust ourselves trying to do something ourselves.
