Romans 10:4
βFor Christ is the fulfillment of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.β
What does Romans 10:4 mean?
Christ brings the law's purpose to completion. The Old Testament law showed us what God's standard is, but it couldn't actually make us right with him on its own, no matter how hard we tried to follow it. When we trust in Christ, we're no longer trying to earn righteousness through our own effort, because his faithfulness and sacrifice do what the law pointed toward all along. That release from the burden of proving ourselves through rule-keeping is what Paul means by fulfillment, and it's available to anyone who believes.
