Romans 10:20

What does Romans 10:20 mean?
Paul quotes Isaiah here to make a striking point: God reaches people who aren't even looking for him. This wasn't part of some calculated plan on their part—it was pure grace breaking into their lives unexpectedly. The passage speaks to a deep comfort many people find in faith: you don't have to have everything figured out or be actively searching to encounter God. Sometimes people stumble into faith, or find themselves being found by something larger than themselves, when they weren't seeking it at all. In the context of Romans, Paul uses this to show that God's salvation isn't limited to those who've done all the right intellectual or spiritual homework first.
